The Return of AutoBob!

Greetings, fellow Autopians.

I used to post here years ago... as "AutoBob". Probably 15 years since I posted. Learned many a detail about detailing. Polished and buffed. Life was good.

I faded away and just stuck with the products I knew from them. Decided to check back in recently, but my old account is in limbo due to "the merge" I guess. Or inactivity. Or something.

I return now as "AutoBobReturns". Looking forward to some life changing conversations about detailing products and techniques and these new-fangled products you young whippersnappers are now using. Or maybe just learn again how to not mess up my car`s finish.

First, welcome back to the Autopia Forum! Yes, a lot has changed in your "absence" from this forum

Just a Captain Obvious (that is my own Also-Known-As)question:
What specific car-care manufacturer and product names did you use back then and are you still using some or all of them?
I am still pretty much a Meguiar`s user, but have branched out into Optimum Polymer Technology and Poorboy`s World and Griot`s Garage, with a new appreciation for and usage of Turtle Wax`s Hybrid Solutions products. (Yes, I know; would have thought Turtle Wax!)
Just curious on your car-care product thoughts....

Polishes were Finesse It II and Menzerna. Top coat Klasse and it`s Glaze in a good week. Lexol for the leather... I understand it`s now considered the devil`s nectar.

Yes, after respected Autopian All-star Stokdog (my assessment) stated that he has seen Lexol ruin some high-end vehicle leather, I stopped using it and now use Griot`s Garage odor-neutralizing leather cleaner and their leather care cream on vehicles I detail, even though the cream has a urea-like (bovine barnyard) smell to it. Some vehicle owners like it; I personally do not, BUT it does soften and shine leathers very well and it is not expensive (so says a cheapskate Captain Obvious!)
