What's with GMC using the Who's "Eminance Front" as the soundtrack for their ads, let alone with all the other, uhm...external appearance...factors featured in those ads? Didn't somebody listen to the lyrics?
[Note that Accumulator was a satisfied Yukon XLD owner; he's not hating on the upscale-Chevy Trucks]

Love the song, but yeah as an add song for a brand that is mostly just a dolled up Chevy it is a puzzling choice. Are they trying to make sure every one knows they are charging more just so you can say its a gmc with few nicer features "it's a put on" is right in the lyrics. Is it supposed be a haha haha you payed more for basically the same as your neighbors truck and it cant do a single thing any better seems like an insult. hit me the first time I heard it.

trashmanssd- Exactly! I can even appreciate some of the kinda minor functional upgrades (i.e., a Yukon Denali *does* have some good engine/lighting upgrades over a Suburban as opposed to, say.. Escalade/Denali differences), but why use *that* song, let alone in an ad that talks about fancy suits/etc.?!? It all strikes me as referencing exactly the sort of things Townsend was getting at from a very different perspective.

And apparently not one person at the ad agency or GM thought about this! I can't help but think "...stupid people...". Heh heh, I'd like to walk into a GMC dealership and say "I'm thinking about hiding behind an Eminance Front, can you show me something that'll make for a good put-on?"

Over the years I had two, both good Pontiacs, one was a Bonneville SSE. My cousin had a SSEi at the same time, it had the SC 3.8, he had real problems with his engine, mine never caused a minutes problem.
