The PC is on it's way, need some advice

Well i placed the order...



PC 7424 with 2 white LC pads and 1 black LC pad with a 5" backing plate

Poorboys SSR2 and SSR1

and Natty's Blue Paste Wax



Now i can join the PC crowd, I am going to read david's guide on how to use the thing.



I think i am Going to hit the car with ssr2, then ssr1 and then hit it with nxt and top it with natty's blue?



Sound Good?



Is ssr1 really needed after 2???



How much more agressive is 2.5 over 2.... I think i might need 2.5 but not very sure but i know i will really need ssr2 for sure....



Any advice is appreciated so i am well prepared... :)



I also don't have a test subject like an old beater or panel which is the crappy part.

Depending on the color of the car...if it's a dark solid color most likely you'll need to use a finishing polish, like SSR1, if it's a light or metallic color you could probably get away with just SSR2 as long as you break it down completely.

* Using a 1'x1' section - apply the polish the same as any other polish

* using little pressure and speed 4.5 - 5 work the polish in.

* At each change in the polish I remove a section and see how the paint looks

* repeat at each change until very little or no hazing is present (this will very depending on the abrasiveness of the polish).



The reason for speed 4.5-5 and little pressure is, it goes through the stages slower so you can determine when it's broken down without under or over working the polish. Now you know what it looks like when it's broken down you can increase the speed, pressure, etc. to get the job done.

I checked out your website in the links of your Sig and it was very helpful.



So at every stage i should take a MF and wipe a small section to check out the paint, then continue with the PC and do it again in the next stage and again and again? If so i will do that. How much working time did you get with 2.5?

Some might see it as an overkill but when you are first starting out, it helps prevent under or over working the polish. Time can range from 2mins to 5mins and is determined by temp., humidity, polish, amount of polish, pressure, etc.





And don't forget to use good light to see your progress!!
 
Well i tried it out today on the car and i couldn't believe my eyes on how much of an improvement it made.... I am having trouble figuring out though when it's ready to remove. I got to the point where i can't basically see it and then i wiped it with a MF and it came right off. Does that mean it's done when basically one swipe takes it off?

Usually when it gets to that "holograph look" is when it's ready to be removed, something like this:

....but again it depends on the polish you are using
 
I was using ssr2 myself and then ssr1. When i did remove it there was basically nothing there, almost invisible... Kinda like the picture. Then i took the towel and a few swipes it was all gone. I am trying not to work it to long or not work it long enough. Some odd spots were still sticky but most seemed dry and a few swipes took it off the surface.
