Coming home from a show I got hit with a rock and it knocked all the clear coat off and the base coat also.
No way to spot clear coat without leaving a ring so I sanded the whole fender and mask it off.
I'm going to shoot it this afternoon and wet sand and buff it tomorrow then after a few weeks put on DuraGloss again.
I guess you could call this the ultimate detail not only time consuming but costly.
Aahh the joy of owning a show car. If it was my daily driver I would just dab a little touch up paint on it and buff it out.
At 10 feet and 10 mph it would look good but when you have people judging your car such things just won't cut it.
Just thought I would share my good fortune.
