I thought that I had a good handle on the meaning of service: "The act of doing things for other people."
When I think of service I think of Clean Dean detailing a Mercedes to perfection, Dwayne sending out orders fast or my hair stylist just taking a little off the top but keeping it long and oh so luxurious in the back.
Then I thought of these terms:
Internal Revenue Service
Postal Service
Telephone Service
Civil Service
City/County Public Service
Customer Service
Service Stations
Now I was really confused about the word "service." This is not what I thought "service" meant.
Then today, I overheard two farmers talking and one said to the other that he had hired a bull to "service" a few of his cows.
BAM!!!
It all came into perspective. I now understand clearly what all of those "service" agencies are doing to us. :naughty
