Hold tight there cowboy. Millions can be made from "Kicking the bo-bo"

I can see it now for only $19.99

Actually I don't use lube or soap water anymore because in my experience it breaks the clay down too fast. I use water for general purpose and maybe some lube or soap water for heavily contaminated.

Here is an idea for distributors. First there was soap on a rope, How about clay on a rope.

Troy or Steve if yal do this yal better cut me in!

Clay on a rope... Nope.

The whole point of using a clay lube over a soap is so it won't harm your clay. Water by itself will work but a lube makes it safer and easier to use.

Which was my thinking until I actually started using with out the lube. The clay will still glide across finish, besides that I polish after I clay anyway... for the most part.

I have found that my clay last a lot longer now.

So I guess what you are saying is that water by itself makes the claying process more aggressive?

yes, clay will be more aggressive without a lubricant.. and can cause scratches with just water. I'd either look for a new clay source or different lube if your was falling apart ... I have clay well over 3 years old that I still use. :hmmm:

3 years come on man! :lol2: What are you claying model cars? Smile

Explain to me what you use as a lube to get a standard piece of clay to last that long..

Brand names here... Poorboy clay and spray and wipe will make the clay last 3 years...

Please yoda jump on my back and teach me the ways of the force.

To get the clay to last longer, without breaking it down, try someting like Final Inspection (Meg's #34) or Showroom Finish (Mark V Products) as your lubricant. Also, you might want to try using a smaller piece (I use a ball the size of a silver dollar; flattened out) which will yeild (depending on the contaminate) at the least, 3-5 vehicles.

:D I use Spray and Wipe (straight or diluted) or Super Slick & Suds ( during second wash or 1/4 ounce to a 32oz bottle) kneed often and store in a jar with either some S&W or S&G sprayed liberally on it) ... thorough kneeding of a good clay also seems to make is softer and more plyable for me ... I also like to leave it in the sun to warm up if kneeding seems tough .. ;)
