the best schools....

Renny Doyle with Attention to Details out of Sun Valley, ID. It's one-on-one training that is worth so much more than any fee he could charge. You'll not only receive hours of hands-on experience, but he also goes over the aspects of running a successful business and marketing that business. Renny has more than 25 years experience in the detailing industry and really knows what he's talking about, plus he's a super nice fellow. Here's a link to his website if your interested: http://www.detailingsuccess.com. I went through his training about 6 months ago and it was by far the best move I could've made in starting up my mobile business. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.

Matt Williams

Experience is better than any school really. If you teach yourself how to fix a variety of problems with what you have then when you encounter something new while detailing you'll be better equipped to fix the problem. When learning rotary it's helpful to have someone who knows what they're doing to show you the correct technique, find a high quality detail shop and ask to help around at reduced pay until you know what you're doing. Best experience there is for learning how to detail.

I plan to go to the Prep Excellence school at Automotive International in Cincinnati, OH one day. The Meguiar's NXT Tech Institute is supposed to be quite good as well.

I will add to this...get a job with a very experienced detailer, shop or body shop.
Watch, practice and ask a lot of questions. No school can give you the experience needed to be out on your own when you run into a problem!!!
It's trial and error and getting this experience in a busy shop of some type will be not only a valuable experience, but you'll get paid while learning instead of paying to learn.
