The banana, repaired & polished

Back in December, I had a rude encounter with a guardrail December's Crunch

It took a while, but the Screaming Banana was made whole

Today I was able to get a few after "after" pics. Sorry there are no full car, full lighting shots, but it's been raining & overcast all day.

Over a period of time, I have used my new rotary starting with #2 then #9, finally putting 3 applications of Collinite Insulator wax on the paint. The rim has NXT and the tire has GC Trim Detailer

Better pics to follow

Looks good, looking at the before pics suprised it got fixed it though.

So was I. The shop knew they could fix it, but they weren't sure if the insurance company would be willing to pay the bill. We all thought they would total it (so much for the SRT-4 I was looking at ;) )

PS. Not only is the owner of the body shop a family friend, he is the #1 "Shop of Preference" for my insurance company in this area. Meaning they provide 60% + of his business...there's no way he's going to risk that much business/money by doing shoddy work.

Did you let the paint cure before putting on the

wax?

No need. Once the car was painted it was rolled across to the next bay, which is an oven. :up

I was pretty sure he baked (heat cured) his work...especially the larger jobs (my car was repainted starting with the driver's door around to the entire right quarter panel with full trim removal (as seen in the paintbooth pics).

Just to make sure, I asked and he told me I could wax it the day I picked it up.

BTW, It was physically mid January and I didn't start doing anything to it until about April 10th, so there was over 60 days between painting/baking until polishing/waxing

The quality of the paint looks terrific. I wonder if Souveran would be ultra wet on yellow. It seems to really do solid colors justice.
