The Fourth of July comes pretty close to being the same wherever we have lived: No Eagles involved. Alas, often only Turkeys. Cool image though, MaryB. Thanks.
Canada Day (July 1, for you "Southerners") always seemed to have a little respect for the living, be it humanoids or pets/animals, but it hath been a few decades since living in Canader, and several other states/provinces. We hold paws and hooves until the whole thoughtless multi-day orgy finally wears its self out. Amazing, how stupido humans can be?
Me thinks we lived in every state/province who appeared to invent drunk drivers and people who like to blow off their fingers.
Come t`think of it, our National Symbol is largely a carrion eater? "Ben Frankie" had a better suggestion with putting a turkey as the national bird. Albeit, Bird Brains DO seem to shine on the Fourth of July? My hat`s off, to the cops, paramedics, vets (only $900 for us nearly a decade ago) and dealing with turkeys shooting large ariels over our pastures in WA. And insane fireworks where we have lived for 12 years.
The `Fourth`, is a Cheap Drunk?
Or, not-so-cheap-drunk, depending on how much fire power is needed to light up up your Ars?
Nothing at all, to do with the original intent of the holiday. Pardon me, I have to text a bunch o`people who don`t "Light Up".
Be Safe.
