I just wanted to thank Scottwax and others for telling me about S100!! The results are nothing short of amazing!!

I used DACP, then #9, then #20 and topped with S100! The shine was so deep, and reflective!! :)

Sorry for adding yet again another picture of my truck, but I am just so happy with the results!! Thanks again everyone!!!:D

ps. I know, I know...what about the wheel-well? It was 8 degrees below zero (cold snap with no snow on the ground = DARN COLD!!!) so after losing feeling in most of my body parts, I decided to wait until it warms up to tackle the wheel-wells!! :p

Great Shine. I am guessing this picture is taken after you drove it because the wheelwells are dirty. Though i know how hard it is to clean them when u drive a truck since they all show. Great job. :bow

You detailed your truck when it was -8 degrees? I thought it was bad today when I was detailing a 740iL and an ML430 and a cold front blew through, dropping the temperature from 64 to 42 in about 3 hours. Of course, I was wearing a t-shirt which only made it seem colder. :(

Your truck turned out great! S100 on top of #20 looks pretty damn nice. :xyxthumbs

Hopefully, that was -8 Celsius. That's bad enough, but -8 Fahrenheit would have to be unbearable.

In any case, the truck looks great.

Charles:up

wow. -8.... that is the kind of weather where i dont even go outside.. any damage that happens to the paint can wait until it gets warm. The coldest we got this winter was in the high 20s. not a drop of snow :(

Thanks guys!!

Yes, that was -8 Celcius ( at the warmest part of the day!! It was -12 when I started!! )

I would have completed the wheel wells but it was too darn cold!! My tire spray was freezing on impact!! But I just could not stand it any longer!!! I just had to try the S100 over the #20!! I am really pleased with the results!!

One question though; I know many that say that they can get 30-50 cars (I assume 15-25 trucks like mine) out of one jar of S100, but how are you pulling this off? How thin are you putting it on?? Also, I have read that S100 does a good job not attracting dust, but my truck is coated with dust after just 24 hours. Do you have to wash it immediately after applying S100 to break the static build-up??

Cheers

Tim

S100 goes on very thin. You don't need to use a whole bunch for it to spread, but the cold weather may have affected how easily it spread. I get 40-50 wax jobs out of one jar and that includeds a lot of trucks, SUVs and full sized cars.

The dust attraction may have had to do with cold temperatures and low humidity.

Thanks Scott, I wondered if the cold weather made the wax not spread as easily. What do you use for the wheel wells?? I do a lot of Camping and fishing so I need something durable. Any ideas?? Moreover, what do you use to detail the engines? I can not buy Meg's Engine Kote, any other suggestions?

Thanks Roderigo! You do some pretty nice work yourself!! I tried the cold hands on the back trick on my wife; it did not work!! She said: "cut it out!! I already married ya!!! Damn!!!

On wheel wells, Simple Green and a brush work pretty good, then follow with Armor All or something similar.

I normally don't do many engines, but again, Simple Green (cut 50/50 with water) works great.

DOH!!! I really have to learn to slow down and read the entire post next time!!! Sorry Scott!!! :o

Are you not worried about using Armor All in the wheel wells( as in contaminating the brakes)?

Sorry Again Bud!!!

I don't spray it close to the brakes. I mist it on from 6-12" depending on clearance.

What's so special about Armor All for this purpose? I'm assuming the new non-glossy formula that won't crack the dash? What are the other stuff you can use? I use 303 on the dash. Can I use that though a bit pricey to spray this in wheel wells?

I think AA is used in this case because it's cheap. You could use 303, but I'll call you crazy for doing so! :D

Lol, yea, that trick never gets old. I vary it from lower back, to back of neck, to stomach.. Any sensitive parts of the body. lol.

Yea, the simple green has always worked for me. I just recently got some Castrol Super Clean. IT works great at 100% solution. The suds it produced turned brown. No scrubbing required. I use this on my wheelwells, visible frame, tires, and wheels. I also use it to wipe down the engine. Im going to try it on the bed of my truck soon since the sand bag in back has turned the black plastic to a brown, grey color.
