First off let me say thanks to all of you who have helped by answering my previous threads. This is a great site and the information gathered from all the detailers here has helped immensly.

Received my Zaino order of ZFX, Z-2, Z-5, Z-6, Z-7, Z-18(claybar) and 318 (cotton polish applicators). Booked this weekend to apply Zaino to a 3 week old (new car) Topaz (medium) Blue BMW. I've read numerous posts about Zaino here that have answered many of my questions. However, being the "detailed" anal person I am there are still some questions I've yet found answers to.

This is my planned schedule:

DAWN WASH (1 oz. per 3 gallons of water) & rinse well.
Z-18 CLAYBAR with Z-7 for lube. (1/2 cap per 12 ozs. water)
Z-7 WASH
Z-5 with ZFX (2 coats with Z-6 after each coat)
Z-2 with ZFX (2 coats the following day with Z-6 after each)
Z-5 and Z-2 will be removed with true US 100% cotton towels
Will spray Z-6 on applicators.

The questions:
1) Should I dry the car between the Dawn Wash and Claying?
2) Should I apply Z-6 before the first coat of Z-5?
3) Are best results obtained applying both Z-5 coats first or with Z-2 in-between?

Directions say to use Zaino polish and Z-6 on wheels, metal, chrome, painted trim and plastic.:

4) Are there any parts that I shouldn't let the polish or Z-6 get on such as windows, chrome plated plastic or headlight covers which are a hard clear plastic.
5) Does Zaino look OK on the black plastic trim around the windows? Mine are kind of flat black (not glossy). If not how do I keep from getting it on them?

Thanks in advance for any replies to the questions or suggestions on the procedures.

Bob

Good questions.

Yes, dry your car before you start the claying process. Clay one panel at a time and wipe dry before moving on.

Using Z6 before and between coats of Zaino polishes makes the applying the polish much easier. Z6 is okay on all surfaces, however, it may cause slight streaking on windows.

Zaino polish work fine on rubber and plastic trim. It won't turn white or leave a residue.

I apply Z12 and Z2 to most of my glass surfaces and they work great! Water rolls off the second it touches the glass. If anything, it helps keep the glass from getting as dirty after rain or spotting from washing, not to mention how crystal clear they become.

Zaino can be used on practically any exterior surface without any harmful effects. I use Z2/Z5 on my black matte plasics and tail lenses and they actually become more glossy and reflective. Looks great! You can use any combination of coats you desire, there's no set order. You may like two coats ZFX Z5 and one Z2, or vice versa. Applying Z6 in between is a good idea to help the next coat apply thinner and bond better. I think your really love Zaino on your new Bimmer!

Ditto!!! :)

Not to highjack this thread and steal Michaels thunder :biggrin:but the same sentiments go out to all the mods who made this place drama free and peaceful place for us. You guys all rock!

Amen to drama free and peaceful. Well, until the closing notice went public. There's a few drama posts and violations, but that can be expected of the traveling shills.

It's kind of ashame that an admin is needed on a DETAILING forum to police childish behavior and insults. I think one has to be pretty pathetic to get banned due to attacking others on a forum relating to a hobby that should be enjoyabe to most people that do it.

We aren't debating world peace here, we are just cleaning cars.

Uhhhh, I think Admin spent the majority of his time filtering SPAM, not banning members Boo Hoo

Couldn't you have just wished Michael the best and leave it at that

Just stating an opinion in general. This is America, and for now I am free to do so.:confused::rofl::doh::cornut:

http://www.louis-vuitton-sale-uk.com/Thanks for support. Remarkable phrase Unequivocally, ideal answer Louis Vuitton Cruise 2008 Show Winter Paris Souple Whisper PM - Black , Unsuccessful idea I think, that you are mistaken. I can prove it. In my opinion you are not right. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM. Interesting variant Louis Vuitton Alligator Sobe Clutch .

Take your Louis Vuittion shoes and beat it on up out of here :!!

Sorry the spammers are trying to ruin your thread Micheal, but isn't it kind of appropriate

I would have thought it was nutty to have to police a forum to keep some people from childish behavior, but honestly, it is a common problem. I am a homebrewer, and a member of a brewing forum that has/had the same problems. You'd think a forum like this would be immune, but they really aren't. My brewing forum had a major shake up last year when things got to the point of outright hostility. A number of people were banned, and things ultimately changed for the better. It was sad to see, but it is everywhere.

Many, Many thanks to everyone for the kind words.
It has been wonderful being your Admin.
Yes, to answer the question, I did spend a lot of time de-spamming this board.
You have no idea just how many spammers and spam-bots I was kicking out on a daily basis.

This board was a labor of love for me.
I am honored to have seen it grow from 0 members to over 4500, in just over two years time.

I am also honored to have been your Admin during that time.

I wish every member of this forum all the best.

Thanks for everything Michael. You have helped build (IMHO) the greatest detailing forum around, and it is sad to see it go.

Couldn't possibly someone backup the forum info (admin) and move the info to another hosting service. Domain's and hosting is cheap. I'm sure the regulars would chip in $$ to keep the forum alive. This forum is filled with such valuable information; as a lurker I'd hate to not be able to lurk here no mo...

Thanks, DC.
And thank you to everyone else for the very kind words.
