Testing PB's SSR 2.5

I am not saying I am here to "correct" you but I find that FP is perhaps one of the mildest polishes I have in my line up. I can't understand how it seems to be "coarse" nor would I consider it a "compound". Now IP I might place in that category but even then we have it low on the abrasive scale.

Appreciate the response. I come from something of a

bodyshop mindset, So anything that has a coarse feel to my

fingers, just gets grouped into compounds. No

misrepresentation intended. Outside of the basic finishing

work I would do to a car before delivery, I know nothing

else. This is pretty new to me, so forgive a few misteps.

I was going by the initial feel and look to the products when

wet and dried a bit. Having tried FP a few times, I can see that

it does diminish in grittyness as it is worked. However, it still

appears to be more abrassive than the FC.

Tonite or tommorrow, I will experiment with on my personal

car to get more feddback.

Just wish i had a camera

I got some Cherry and it is way too strong of a smell. Maybe I'll use it on my car.

Well, I had a chance to try the 2.5. Very potent stuff, but

it breaks down good to almost a liquid.

I used it on a section of my hood with the maroon Meguires

pad. Unfortunately the hood was already in very bad shape,

so there was not much i could do short of painting to save it.

Still, i managed to get a decent shine back into it. Not

mirror finish, but still a decent shine, and removal of most

swirls and webs.

On the untreated sections, i tried the FP, and the FCRC

both with white pad, and then the grey pad. The FP took a

short time to really get into the paint, while the FCRC took

a little longer to do something. The FP definitely has more

initial cut than the FCRC, but the FCRC managed to help

clear up the FP.

I still have a lot to learn about all these goodies, but

so far, I think I am making progress. I will be trying

other sections of the car later this Sunday to see if my

findings change.
