Technical question... polish before wax?

This is kind of a technical question. I have read a lot of good information in these forums.

I finally got S100 in my hands (little hard because I'm in Ecuador) and I'm waiting for my VM and QS order. A friend of mine who lives in USA is sending me the products.

1. Ok, the thing is that I want to use the S100 while I wait for the rest of products to get here but my car's paint is no in very good shape. Since I have read that in this case I should prep the surface before waxing I think the S100 wont make a very big diference..... am i right?

2. My wife's car has the paint in a lot better shape (but not perfect). Do you think the S100 would make a big improvement itself? or should I wait for the VM?

3. How does the wax improve the paint looks? I read that polishes and glazes are the responsible for improving the looks of paint. So, wax just protects and nothing else??

Sorry about my english... Thanks

Wax is the last thing you put on your car after you are finished with the polishing and everything else. The reason you put it on last is because you can't get anything else to bond to it properly. Applying a polish on top would just remove the wax anyway.

Wax is mostly for enhancing the appearance since it does little in the way of long term protection. It will protect for a month or two between applications though. I'd give S100 a good 6 weeks or so. It does make the paint look great. Just look through some of the old posts and you'll see what I mean. S100 gives the color a wet look and a depth that it doesn't have without wax. Its a good thing to have. :xyxthumbs

Well your english is certainly better than my Ecuadorian.

S100 by itself does very little except frovide a shine and some protection to the finish of the paint.

Unless the vehicles paint is brand new, I would wait for something with a little polishing power to remove the oxidation from the paint.

No harm in trying a small section tho, i would be interested to see what effect just S100 has on dull paint.

If you want to try the S100 while you’re waiting for your Vanilla Moose you can always remove it later by washing the car with a liquid dish washing detergent.
