I just took delivery of an 02 4Runner that is the Thunder Cloud paint color. The paint is really slick and has been treated with the Toyotaguard process for what thats worth.I asked the owner of a local auto speciality supply shop what he would reccommend for a nice shine and lasting durablity. He said hands down that all I needed was to use the Race Glaze Polish & Sealer. He said that of all the products he sells (and he has most car care products)that the Race Glaze has been the most durable for him and a large customer base. How good is this product and will I get good protection from using just one product. I really don't want to use a 3 or 4 step process .Thanks for any info. Great site.

From doing a quick search in this forum, it seems like Race Glaze is a pretty decent product.

EEEEEEEEEEEK! I disagree...when we tested it, it offered about 3-4 weeks worth of protection on a non-driven, gently washed panel. It also had a pretty strong cleaner and smelled like solvent. Dried white so it would probably stain trim.

Shine was decent, but there's better products out there- might give Collinite a shot, or Blitz or Meguiar's #26 or #20...

Just my $.02

A sneak peek what got dropped off today for some extensive work.

....stay tuned for more!

Pretty close guys! 1962 Vette! And it sounds even better than it looks too, with a 450+hp ZZ4 Chevy crate motor.

Ok guys.... a few more. ACTUALLY GOT SOME SUN TODAY!! The weather here is the bay area has been weird to say the least! June and we got buckets of rain, thunder, lightning, etc... So I snapped a few pics as I got to work. MANY hours will be going into the correction work on this car. Here's why.....

Ouch!

If a child gets neglected and abused like that CPS takes them away. I think the same should happen for cars. I'd be the first to volunteer to be a foster owner for this one:devil:.

Wow, thats going to take some work. Is the paint original? If it is, I see some red pads in your future. X_X

It was repainted about 8 years ago I think, with basecoat/clearcoat. It had 3 thick layers of clear, then was wetsanded. The sanding was good, the buffing was good (so far as I can see....so far...), but some of the edges were burned (FAIL). So I'll be taping EVERY single edge on this car to be safe. Gonna be a LOT of tape.

Very nice!

What mods has he done to the ZZ4 to get that much more power? That's basically the same motor I had in my Monte (ZZ3). :)

I can't remember exactly, but I think some headwork, bigger cam, and bigger carb.

Solid motors! My old man put a ZZ430 in his '78 short box Chevy....that thing was sweet! :)

Was planning on having it through thursday, but I may have it a little longer. Wish I could say it was to do more work on it, but actually I got thrown from a horse yesterday and got a little banged up and stayed off my feet the rest of today and likely today and tomorrow. Lots of time to catch up on the forums though lol!
