Our shop is throwing a classic car show this weekend for the Minneapolis Aquatennial and, like every year, the owner is showing a small portion of his collection.

1970 1/2 - 1 of 1 - Plymouth 'Cuda 440 6-pack Sassy Grass Green w/ Chartoose Strobe Stripe

1970 1/2 - 1 of 1 - Plymouth 'Cuda 340 Fully Loaded Moulan Rouge w/ Pink Strobe Stripe

1970 - Dodge Challenger R/T 426 Hemi in Plum Crazy Purple

All three cars are number-matching Restos with heavy documentation. Process on the two Barracudas was just a wash and wax (P21S) and interior dressed up. The Challenger had some hard water spots and required a little polishing then a coat a my fav, Natty's Blue.

We're hoping for some good weather tomorrow and I'll have my camera with me.

Until then, if you're clever and impatient you can find old pics through Barrett-Jackson's site. :LOLOL

Show up early as we're expecting cars to show up before 7am.

Stop by and say HI! :xyxthumbs

Heh.. Pics are here!

I'm a lobster. Gorgeous day outside with a wonderful turnout. I have over 200 pics from the show so I'm sifting through the good. I'll start a new post in the Car Show & Concourse forum. I'll give you three until I get the rest uploaded.

Those are some pretty amazing cars...painted some seriously horrible colors. The prices of those numbers matching hemi's are insane though, so keeping those colors is very imprtant. Nice work and I cant wait to see more of the pictures.

:bow :bow :bow

I really like the Challenger, I've been a big fan of them ever since my brother had a '71 with a built 340, 3000 stall and 4.56 gears.

The show was wonderful!

We had a great turnout with some wonderful cars. A local Nash Metropolitan club brought 9 of their cars that I'd never heard of before. Neat little things from the UK with Austin Healy motors (one was supercharged!) There were a few amazing GTOs and a Firebird that had better black paint than I've even seen on a vehicle. The guy owns a body shop and did the paint himself.

About the colors, most people either loved 'em or hated 'em. Dodge and Plymouth came out with some interesting colors back then (my uncle has a 'Sublime' '72 Challenger) and I believe it does what was intended... draws attention. The cars sat in the parking lot for a few hours after the show waiting to be picked up, so I sat security. Basically just talked about the cars for 3 hours and kept opening the hoods while people's jaws dropped. There wasn't a single minute those three hours where there weren't at least a half a dozen people checking things out.

The tow driver that brought them back to storage was pretty paranoid, too. :grinno:
