Taxes...

Tax season is fast approaching and I have a question for you pros.

About what do you pay to have your taxes done? This is our first year in business and I am wondering what to expect to pay to have taxes done for a small business. I just sort of want to see what the "going rate" is before I shop around.

Thanks

p.s. Any tips on finding an accountant will be helpfull as well.

If you're already in business, I would think that you should have been paying quarterly income and FICA payments through the year; unless you haven't made a profit.

I hope I'm wrong, but you may get hit with a penalty if you made a profit. Hopefully this is your first quarter in business and you have profits to report.

No, we are set up to pay yearly right now. You have to make so much before it is quarterly.

I set up an appointment for an cpa my aunt used to work for. I will let you all know how that goes on Tuesday night.

Well, I meant with a small local accountant / book keeper last night and he has a great hourly rate and said it will be anywhere from $100-$200 to do our sales and witholding taxes. Sounds great to me! He said the more work we do the less it will cost us. So we just have to organize and tally up some things for him and he can do the rest.
