Tarminator seems to work fine for me ... I use a MF scrubbing cloth with it, here is one I did (most of it removed)

Is there any wax or sealant that prevents such tar from sticking to the paint so that such tar can be easily removed just by washing the car?

3M adhesive remover works good so does heated citrus cleaner, you can put tar remover in the sun or hot water to heat it up it works better.

Yes once tar was been dried and hardened it's much harder to remove, what I do is wipe 3M adhesive remover on let soak then MF off, repeat if needed

Wax does little to protect the tar from sticking because the tar is warm.

Pre cut clear 3m plastic guard works real nice for protection also if the fender trim is already chipped up by rocks you can get plastic guard that is the same color as your car.

I had zero help with Tarminator, Ive had good luck with 3M's product, WD-40, and Crafcos sealant remover........Super, I think protection is key, in resistance.......

How effective is undiluted car wash for tar removal?

7. What’s the best way to remove bugs and tar without dulling paint or removing wax?

Use our California Gold® Car Wash full strength with a soft scrubber sponge before washing. The undiluted Car Wash will help remove bugs and tar without stripping wax or dulling paint.

I've heard people use kerosine with good results.

Actually, when I worked at a tunnel wash come to think of it I think that was what was in our "gunk remover" bottles :hide:

Just to be safe watch out with flammable cleaners, I had a good friend of mine got burned real bad cleaning with a flammable cleaner. I just don’t want to see it happen to no one. BE SAFE!

I just removed some tar today, using 3M Adhesive Remover. Came off easily. I then slapped some IW 845 on the whole fender. It took me 5 mins.,tops.

i've tried a handful of tar removers (stoners, turtle wax, etc..) and recently tried the long haul truck degreaser/bug remover and it worked very well and better than the formentioned and anything else i've tried thus far... :up
