Never tried Stoners tarminator; I know there glass cleaner works very well; personally by looking at the pictures I would use lacquer thinner or a cleaner solvent product; just do a small spot first;

Shall i say Mineral Spirits again, works well on tar, decal glue, carpet tar, oil, etc. And it is very very slow to soften paint, unlike LT, Acetone and Xylene products.

I also use the Tarminator and have great success with it. As stated also, Kerosene works wonders with Tar. As far as the exhaust tips, I usually spray mine down with the Tarminator and then rub with a #000 steel wool. Once all the tar is off, I use Mothers Billet Aluminum Polish with a #0000 steel wool, and it brings it to a nice luster. This is the same process for my chrome nerf "step" bars.

so you actually polish your tip using #0000 steel wool?? i was thinking of using nevrdull after removing the tar?

Also, does #000 harm SS any more than #0000 when scrubbing with it? Just got this exhaust put on and really dont want to hurt anything yet LOL!

Depending on the quality of SS and the material of steel wool, you might scratch the tailpipe. Not all SS steel is the same. And steel wool can be made from different metals, some are no rust, which i think would be fillings of nickel or SS.

If you can find brass wool, try that.

If the tar is fresh it should come off quick with a solvent.
