how do you get those tar and grease splatter stains off the lower rocker panels behind the front wheels, i tried some polish , no budge, i also tried stoners tar and bug remover and nothing, still there? any ideas

two quick cheap ways

1) laquer thinner on a damp terry towel

2) cheapest liquid wax you can find is mostly kerosene ...
it will literally melt it away with a terry towel

wash quickly afterwards to avoid yellowing of the clearcoat

Funny thing.
Yesterday I saw a newer car with tar dumped all over the hood. I could not believe it. Disgruntled ex perhaps? I woulda snapped a photo but I didn't have my camera.

I heard from another board that babyoil works well.

Good luck

thanks i ll try this stuff you guys mentioned to get out those brownish specks and streaks on the lower rocker panels they driving me nuts

Eimann Fabrik Hi-Intensity takes it off in seconds I did a whole wheel well full of it all you can see is the brown/red water driping off.

What do you guys do to get into wheel wells? I cant get my tire brush in there, so I always skip wheel wells. I also have no way of getting any kind of applicator in there, so I never dress them.

Help?

Yeah Spray some APC+ or Eimann Fabrik Black Opal get a small brush with really stiff bristles go around the spots with the most mud and stuff then let it dry and spray Meguiars Engine kote inside looks great.

I usally take off my wheels for the Full Detail I clean the inside of the rims and the wheel wells all around and dress them.

But how do you manage to find a narrow enough brush? I work with a lot of lowered cars, and there is very little room between the quarter-panel and the wheel.

I would take the wheels off, but technically you should retorque each lugnut back to a specific lb-in. Since that can vary per car, ive never taken wheels off.

3M tar and adhesive remover, available at wal-mart in the carcare aisle with the touch-up paint.

3M tar and adhesive remover can sometimes become 3M paint and Finish Remover! (I had it remove the finish from plastic wheel covers on me before). I've also had it stain/fade plastic parts.

Stick to WD40, its much safer.

If you cant get in there I mostly do the SUV's my family has so its alot easier but on lower cars just spray some APC+ and then just dress afterwards with Engine Kote or what ever cheap dressing you can find even armorall will work to make it look black again.
