Taping my car up for a long roadtrip

I wonder, can the white film that is applied to new cars for protection during transit be reused? Anyone know what holds it in place to begin with?

I found a no-lift (almost no residue) racer's tape at Larry Reynold's website. Also, Forrest's recommendation is worth a try as well. I might just get the bra too, but reviewing all the possibilities is worth it to me.

Medic,

I'd like to take Hwy 1 all the way up, but it could be much too long of a trip, so we'll see. If I end up renting a car, I won't have to worry about any of this. Depends on how fun of a car I can rent for a reasonable rate...

I hope you guys with the BRA's never plan on taking them off. You will be amazed how much debre gets under that and scratches the paint.

Yes for sure you have to be careful. After each trip I remove it and clean it if possible. Worse case is I remove it and shake it down.

I use it anytime I go on the open road and particularly if high speeds are involved.

But if you plan on showing your car there are zero alternatives....thats is unless you love using touchup paint.:)
