TH0001 said:When I tried System One, I had the same problem, hologramming... I thought maybe I stunk (which is completely possible) but then I spoke to other high level pro's who have used it and they all said they couldn't get it hologram free.
This is to me expected as going from a full cut wool pad to a 100ppi foam pad is missing a couple steps...
I have been attacked by the few users of this product, and fine, I believe with practice I would get better with the product, no doubt.
But even there instructor is leaving holograms...

gmblack3a said:Ok so the video was made to show the product can work in the direct hot sun.
Then I also gather that the video also shows if you work a product too quickly, you will have holograms?
I have heard that ZoranC has alot of experience with this product, maybe he will chime in.

First, the video was to show that you can "can" use their product in direct sun....not that shade or a shop environment would do better. I've had a few circumstances to use it in direct sun and it does work.
Holograms: wow!....I can't say I've ever had holograms from System One. And, yes, I do an alcohol wipedown after compounding to see if I've missed anything.
I suspect you folks that are experiencing holograming might not be working the product long enough on wool and/or cleaning your pad. I use a pad washer between each section of car I'm working on: door, quarter, trunk, hood, etc. I do this whether it's System One or 3M Extra Cut, or Perfect-It 3000, or Meguiar's 105. They all can build up in the fibers of the wool and create problems.
Try this if you get holograms: Work the product until you're satisfied with corrections, then switch to foam and spritz the pad with quick detailer only. This should clear away any product that's left on the panel and see if you get holograms.
I use System One a lot, but there are times when the dealer I recon BMW's for wants 3M Extra Cut (soon to be discontinued) used for heavy compounding.
Todd: If I can make my way to Florida, I'll bring my System One stuff and do a session with you.
There....I feel better!
