SWP, #9 or Speed Glaze?

NattyBumppo

Strange name, ain't it?
I'm stopping by the local Meg's distributor tomorrow to pick up some DACP but I'm also running very low on #9. I was thinking of trying one of the other products in the title instead of #9.

Meg's lineup is a bit confusing...why have both #9 and SWP if they are both rated a 3 on their scale? Speed Glaze is rated a bit more abrasive at #4 and it says it removes swirls and oxidation but if it's a true glaze then wouldn't it just fill and hide them?

Recommendation please for the lighter duty Meg's SMR in my stock. Stick with #9 or change to Speed Glaze or SWP?

Thanks.

Dont forget that most of Meg's Pro Series (DACP and the like) are formulated for body shop and dealer use, meaning use with a rotary. So the diffs might seem minor to most of us but to a detailer at a big dealer, one formulation might make for quicker work than another.

Too many people get confused by Meguiar's product line when its actually pretty simple to decipher. If you just gotta know what the performance diffs are then I suggest calling Meguiars Tech Line.

I got some Swirl Free Polish on Scottwax's advice. I too was considering #9. I guess the Body Shop line is newer. I haven't used #9, but SFP was great. It goes on very easy and is pretty easy to buff off. You can use it with a random-orbit buffer just like #9. The biggest selling point might be that you get twice as much for about 1.5 time the price. So it's a better value.

SFP it is. I figure between the SFP, DACP and the other assorted polishes/cleaners I've collected these last few months I've pretty much got the bases covered. It sure is nice having a Meg's distributor close by.

Thanks gang.
