would you guys recommend using wd-40 as tar and bug remover, it seems to work very well, but are there any effects

i heard it eats clear coat

but it works well....be sure to rewax any panels that it is used on. If you are using a quality sealant.....tar should wipe off easy and no WD40 should be required.

I am wondering if anyone has tried this wax? Retail price is $1,100.00, Yes $1,100.00. I dont think I could ever bring myself to pay $100 for a tub of wax let alone $1100. The claim is that it will last up to 12 months and is made of some special carnubas. I just dont see how that price is justified. Maybe I am missing something. For that price I would expect Paul Dalton himself to show up at my door and apply it.

Everything is relevant!

People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on cars

Tens of thousands on fine watches

Hundreds on fancy dinners

Not for us to judge, to each their own I say

How about my wife that spends 800 bucks for an ounce of perfume. Let's see 8ozs. X 800 bucks, wow I can spend $6400 on a tub of wax.

How about some Zymol for 30k?

I wanna say the name of the perfume was Clive Chirstensen? I had a girl ask for that on her birthday... she only wanted the $250 bottle though so it was okay :out:

Wow, lots of money for one tub, but if one wants one go for it. Maybe I can get one with my name on it and charged more..............

now I know what you guys are doing with the wax that you took in for the cash for wax contest.

Zoom wax-Crafted from a special blend of the finest waxes availible.

Exactly. This wax is not for the normal, day-to-day detailer. Someone who spends 1.5 Million (or whatever they cost) for a Bugatti Veyron (however you spell it) wouldn't blink an eye at spending 1,100 for wax.

It's mostly marketing and hype. You're spending money on carnuaba, Propolis (beeswax), and oils. It cost almost nothing to make these waxes. The containers cost more than the actual product.

Some known waxes are loaded with silicone's.

If someone wants to spend the money on 2k-50k waxes that's great, but they are not getting a wax that's 2000x-50000x better. I remember reading about a test Todd did some time ago at a clients house. Where people picked the P21s 100% side over Royale. Actually no one picked Royale.

If you want to spend that kind of money that's great, but there are cheaper alternatives that look just as good if not better. jmo

Maybe Todd will weigh in on this as well. ;)
