Swirls are EVERYWHERE

Ever since I have gotten into detailing i have notices swirls everywhere. Every time i am driving and the sun hits a car i say WOW. On floors, counter tops, plastics, all types of metals (even on spoons :crazy2: ) What i'm trying to say is i really didn't pay any attention to any of this when i didn't know about detailing. *Dumb question coming be ready* What causes this on surfaces other than paint? (im assuming it would be the same reasons :hmmm: but could be different:confused: )

I remember going into this supermarket out of state about a year ago and the floor was highly polished concrete, there were holograms everywhere :lol2:
The concrete was a darker brown so they showed bad too.

I notice swirls everywhere too, I know exactly what you mean. Heck I use my spray wax on our countertops just so they're less visible :notme:

To answer your question though, I think any smooth surface with anything from a satin finish to a highly polished finish will show swirl marks. Think about the chemicals/tools people use on all these different surfaces, no wonder you see them

silly boy:gotcha:
swirls are refraction of light into fine scratches on any type of surface;)

Spoons, Plates, Anytype of Chrome in the house I notice swirls.

Everyone who gets into detailing where their main goal is removing swirls will start to notice them everywhere. I now notice them more on other things more then what I do on cars.

I notice this everywhere now. I'm always scoping out cars and thinking how bad they look.

I see very few 'properly' maintained cars.

did I ever tell you that your head has swirls after your father gives you a haircut:rofl:crazy2::lol2:

 :lol2:

Gotta try that counter top thing :bigups

Yea your right the chemicals they use to clean floors are very harsh so it would hurt the finish more.

The best is when you are driving along and you see a car next to you and you think wow that looks pretty good, then they pass you and the sun hits the side...oops nvm...
