Swirl X reviews?

Any input on Swirl X? Anything besides "its good" or "it cleans up well." UC is gettin a lot of airtime and just wanted to hear any feedback on this product.

I've still got some IP/FPII and been eyeing M105/205 as a replacement but been hearing such stellar input on UC that I'm curious SwirlX would be a nice 1-2 punch.

I have PG as my heavy hitter but don't really want to waste my time on UC if it ends up being equal to my left over sfx2, SSR 2.5, optimum OC, mothers powerpolish and anything I have off top of my head that I own.

I would love to rid myself of these and slim things down to PG that I have, something like 105 and 205. Since these 2 are already otc and cheaper, I was hoping maybe these two are the ticket.

As long as you have FP2 I don't think you need SWIRL X. UC is more aggressive than IP so it's worth picking up and it finishes so well that you should be able to go to FP2.

I am not a pro. Take my post with a bag of salt.

I really like swirl x. I love UC too. Swirl-x finishes nice and is very easy to work and use. It has much lighter oils than UC which makes it easier to wipe clean and work.

If you are on a rotary then 105/205 per MEG otherwise UC/swirl-x is great.

I have used SwirlX and UC. I find that both products are very DIY target market. SwirlX finishes nicely and is pretty versatile (I used a variety of pads in my testing)

I used SwirlX the other day on a super soft repaint (black) that I could not get to finish down without micromarring with my PC. I used it by hand and it left the finish perfect.

SwirlX is a great product in its intended purpose. IMO, SwirlX isn't really a good name for it, as on many cars it'd not going to get out swirls without a lot of effort, like on the super hard GM clearcoat I have. I'd imagine on something with softer paint like an import, it'd do the job just great.

It's a cost effective and readily available product that works great for removing minor marks on softer finishes.

Does anyone know if SwirlX can be used as a paint cleaner to prep a paint for waxing without leaving anything behind that might hinder lsp bonding? I'm hoping it can take off contaminants as well as any previous LSP on there and leaving a super shiny swirl free surface.

I think you are A-ok with this plan. The beauty of MEG's new products is that the non-diminishing abrasives are aggressive if needed and not if used for a shorter time with less pressure. On my paint it finishes LSP ready.

I just used Swirl X today on a white Jetta and the outcome was terrific. The Jetta is an 09' model and it just had some light swirls. Using a blue Edge polishing pad on my PC, thee Swirl X removed them with ease and left the paint finish ready for my LSP. At $6.97 a bottle at Walmart, I think it's a steal. Hopefully, I'll be getting my M205 from Amazon soon, but in the meantime, I'll be happy to stick with Swirl X. I just might go ahead and pick up another bottle because it's so cheap and effective!:woot:

Not to take this thread too far off topic but is Swirl Remover 2.0 the same/similar to Swirl X ?

Quite a bit different. The new SwirlX 2.0 uses SMAT which seems a lot more effective, IMO.
