Good deal. Do they pass the burn test?

I didn't try them...... slightly afraid to - if anything I'm planning on cutting the edges off - I can tell feel-wise that they're cotton on the pile.

jaojoboy - the towels are 42" x 25" (Bath Towel size)

thanks but once you use microfiber you will never go back. I really love microfiber towels

these are still used by those of us who can't afford a ton of MF's..... :o

besides, they'd be great for wiping up/blotting out cleaner from fabric on the interior.....

ummm... what is the burn test?

If you burn pure cotton it only leaves a small amount of light ash. If it has any polyester it will leave hard residue, kinda like burned plastic.

it shows a good example of the Burn Test in Griot's Garage catalogs.

Well, I just tested the towels, burn test was a pass!!

I also went to a Wamsutta Springmaid outlet today and picked up some "institutional towels" for 2.99 a piece, with extremely nice pile (almost egiptian cotton thick). They also all pass the burn test..... had to go thru to the bottom of all the piles of white towels to find the good stuff, but it was very well worth it. Picked up a dozen or so of those, as well as a couple "irregular" Pima's for 3.99 a piece. :up

Looks like all of my old (colored, washed with fabric softener previously) towels get reverted to interior cloth duty!!:D

For those of you that said they can't afford MF towels with Tom Gong at JT International prices I think the price difference comes to about 1 dollar a towel Personally I think MF towels are easier to work with, and you need less of them!

Well, I'm getting ready to order some MF towels, but I would like to have a few good terry towels handy too. So I can goto K-mart, Target, etc. and buy bath towels there? Just look at the tags of course for that COTTON logo/emblem? I was under the impression the only terry towels you can use on your car are the ones on website for like $10 for 16"x16" or something. I mean if it's 100% it's 100%...right? I don't see how one could be better than the other...with MF towels it's different as there are 70/30 and 80/20 blends...but why would one terry towel be better than another if they are both 100% cotton. I guess the nap or construction would be the only difference, but the Target or other store towels wouldn't hurt my car would they?

only thing you have to be careful of is if it says "100% cotton pile, blend backing"...... I saw some like this - those you should never touch.... ;)
