Surface Prep before Zaino

I have Zaino on my 2003 Toyota Highlander along with my 2001 Tacoma and love the stuff. I put a few layers on my daughter's 1995 Honda Civic (dark gray) THEN I noticed some marks (water marks, maybe sap marks) on the roof along with some swirls on other panels. The car has a clear coat that appears to be in good shape.

I'm considering starting over, what products can I use (cleaner, glaze, maybe swirl remover) to prep the surface (get all the marks out) before wrapping it with Zaino? I'm a little concerned about the Zaino bonding properly.

Many thanks!

I use the Menzerna polishes prior to Zaino .. no oils or fillers in them so no bonding issues. Just a Dawn wash when happy then Zaino away. I think the Autopia store has them.

use whatever polish you want untill you are happy with the result.

read all about it in David's Detailing Guide

just remember to wash with dawn after and you will have no problems with Zaino bonding.

Happy detailing

First, let me confess that I'm just DANG JEALOUS that you're still able to detail cars at this point. Here in the Midwest, we're socked into cold temps and snow. :) Ahhhhh ... to return to the South.

My instinct (as a devoted Zaino user on the old Jag) is like yours: I'd go back to square one and get happy with the paint finish before applying Zaino.
