Surf City Product Discussion

Has anyone been to their manufacturing place? I know of a few places that swear they make their own products with their own chemist and know for a fact they don't do either.

Just playing devils advocate here. ;)

I find that just shocking! :p ;) :LOLOL

I always find it entertaining when boutique wax companies throw out “we hired a real chemist as if it’s some kind of incredible new idea that only they had.

Isn’t it amazing that with dozens of big, nationally and internationally known wax companies and countless small regional outfits, none of them has ever thought to talk to a chemist? It’s about time somebody did.

You’d think that 3M, with their army of chemists for all their other products, would have had one of them look at their car care stuff.

PC.

I have to go with Danase on this, whoever is going to their site ought to get a tour. Personally, I thought the prices were a bit on the high side, guess I'm spoiled buying that crappy old bulk stuff that works great for the beaters I detail.

What is it about Orange County and wax?

...Not to mention that the aversion of detailing product manufacturers to silicon is somewhat contrary in philosophy to the rest of the region... ;)

Yes, "Surf City Garage" is very near Mother's...

Here are three photos taken this afternoon...

Very large sign "Miller Construction" with a very small window decal (see blow up) of the Surf City Garage logo...

Did not have time to stop in today, but will try to make time next week.

As I work in Orange County it would be great to go by to pick up products.

Has any one yet used the detail spray?

Have a good day.

I received all my products today, and they will be put to use tomorrow on a G35. I will let those who are curious enough to have followed this thread thus far, how they perform tomorrow. The packaging was above and beyond anything I have ever seen, quite impressive.

Interesting note, they have a kit called the Perfect Shine.....

I don't know about you other guys but IMO fancy packaging is nothing but a price inflater and has no relationship to quality. IMO this is where guys like Steve at Poorboys got it right.

Wanna, this is what I was attempting to convey.

I dont know why you thought I meant packaging is a bi-product of quality. Conversely, not all

black and white label products are of decent quality/value. The proof is in the end result.

Hey Patrick, did you order all that or stop by surf city? Also is that a t-shirt or a towel on that second picture? I really like to know on how well the products are. Be looking for your post on the surf city products in the future. Thanks Pat!

I used some of the wash and wax this weekend. Worked pretty well. The stuff really foams up, wish I would of have a foam gun to test it with. I'll try to get some photos and a little review up later this week.

No I didnt use any of the Nuba or Polymer stuff, not even the glaze. I do like how they direct the user to use the selant, then the glaze. I have finally found someone who agrees with me on uses for a glaze......Ive just always had issues with using a glaze then sealant/nuba, so i deterred even using glazes.

The wash soap, is pretty nice stuff, so I agree with that statement........
