superglue vandalism

i tried this thread a couple of months ago and didn't get any responses from anyone with firsthand or secondhand experience.

Someone poured something down my driver-side door which has hardened into drips down the door.

It is pretty clear, maybe slightly amber colored where it hangs in drip from the door handle.

I have tried 3m adhesive and tar remover and acetone with zero effect.

i am not sure it's superglue, but that's my guess.

any suggested plans of attack?

Tape off the surrounding area. By taping around the glob so only the glob of whatever is exposed, you may be able to use fine grit sandpaper. You've mentioned that it dried pretty hard. Of course be very careful.

Try this guy, tell him Joe Davulis sent you from Autopia, he will be able to help. All this guy does is deal with industrial grade detailing problems all day every day. No matter what I have asked him in the past he has always had an answer for me.

Ok, thanks guys. I have e-mailed the person you referred me to. I will let you know what he suggests. I will hold off until I have heard from him.

I just had a thought: a co-worker has arranged from a friend who owns a junkyard to get me a hood or a door to practice my newPC technique on.

Maybe I'll toss some superglue on it and see if that's what it looks like, and try various suggestions on that.

My vehicle is a two year old red-metallic Toyota Tundra, and I don't want to screw it up worse than it is.

And someone picked that vehicle to do this to....arghhh.

Ron replied to my e-mail. Unfortunately he didn't know how to handle this one either. His suggestion is to contact one of the companies that makes this type of glue. I'll keep you posted
