Super plush micro wash mitt (purple)

Nice, i'll keep that one in mind. Bought the set of 2 from Chemical Guys and any time i'm wiping a wiper blade/textured trim area, lint from the Mitt just sticks all over and it's a PIA to clean it up.

I had bought one from CG (green) and I bought three (different colors / names) from PBMG. These are much softer than the CG's one, but I also noticed a very slight difference between the different mitts offered by PBMG (yellow was the softest followed by the purple).

Yeah the Green CG is the one i have (along with Orange) and it just leaves bright green fibers all over textured/old trim.

I just can't see the (supposed?) advantages of those "Muppet-style" mitts...I want lots of *very fine* strands, not fewer and thicker ones.

I have about 4 of the AG mitts. I like them because they are less dense than the noodle ones from Autozone so does not absorb a quart of soap when you first dip it and then heavy. The only downside for me is the cuff durability.

Well, it IS microfiber chenille...so it SHOULD be made up of a lot of micro fibers...no? Not that I've looked at one under a microscope, although that could be a good idea...

I use a lot of different kinds of wash media, so I dunno...

I use natural sea sponges....still.

But, it says this mitt was used on a Ferrari, so I should probably buy one to test it.

Is it possible to get a signed edition?

I got the purple one with a free MF gift during one of the promotions this year. Wow is right! I was using the grey one before for the paint, which I thought was great compared to my Target one that I use on wheels. Then the purple one came along...definitely the champ of the few MF mitts I have tried.

The Purple Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt has been my most used wash mitt for a long time.

It was a beautifull morn to test this mitt. 10/10. With hyperwash it really held tons of solution. This is one of the softest mitts i ever used.

They seem all the same to me. I think the color idea is to use for a specific task (like one color dedicated to lower bodpanels) or just for personal preference.

How do you guys use the mitt? Do you put your hand inside or hold it from the outside while in use?

I switched to holding the mitt this year and prefer it to putting my hand inside. I find it a little bit easier to use and my hands don't prune up as easly.

Sounds good then. I usually have one for lower panel if I ever remember which one it is. The color will definitely help.

I typically put my hand in mitts so I can control pressure. I always wear latex gloves during the whole process (paint and wheels).

I too always wear gloves when I'm doing this stuff..live and learn ;)

I feel that I put too much pressure on the mitt when I wear it like a glove, plus that precludes filling it with wash solution. Much more covenient than doing it my way though, no question about that.

Dear Al & Friends

But I thought we wanted our wash media to retain as much soap as possible between the bucket and the paint to provide maximum lubricity. I start off with about 4.5 gallons and end up with about 2.

If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I just find the dense mitts very heavy and prefer something not as heavy. I do not think there is significantly less contact with paint due to fewer noodles so it is not like it is less safe. For the AG mitts, the cuff has been a weakness. On my autozone neon green mitt, the interior mesh has separated. For those that use them like wash pads, it is not like a concern in either case.
