Sully's Detailing DB9

Please, no Bose, they are not well respected in the quality audio industry, overpriced, and overmarketed. That said, there are many other good options. If you want an all in one system (DVD, amp, speaker) go with the sony dream system for about $700 if i remember. Not the best all arpound performance but easy and good quality intro to home theater enjoyment (like an all in one wax, not as good as buying seperate components, but easier and can sill be good) For just speaker systems, Check out Definitive Tehcnology (definitivetech.com) ProCinima 80, Energy's Take 5 system (energyspeakers.com...i think, run a search), Atlantic Technologies (atlantictech.com....?) T-90 system. All have about $900 systems that you could get slightyl cheaperin stores. Also, i just read a review of a speaker system by Acoustic Research, was $799 and got an awesome review. Check out what falls in your price range, see where you can find them and litem to them. What sounds best to you is more important than what a dealer or reviewer thinks. Theese are just some of my sugestions, but research, go to a decent store, lisdten to whats in your range with some familiar material, and bargain down the price. Oh yeah, if you find something you like, check out e-bay, some large stores sell thier brand new extra stock for 30-40% off retail. Good luck man, once you listen to your favorite music/movier iwith a good system, and you will be adicted.:D

<strong class='bbc'>second movie I bought on DVD. The fight scene sounds awesome, espeically with 5.1 DD, with a sub woofer. THE BEST sounding movie I have (in my opinion) is GLADIATOR DTS. [/b]</blockquote>

The best sounding dvds I own is the remastered Alien box set in THX. Played on my Klipsch speakers of course. ;)

Onkyo still makes very good Audio/Video products. I know 'cause I own one. However, if it's high end Audio, you really have to step up to the Krells, CJ, Audio Reasearch...Reasonably priced ones would be the Adcoms.

Agree with you on those Energy Take 5's for a HT setup - can't beat the price too. A friend has those and they make such fabulous sound for their size. I do like the sound of British speakers so I have the Celestions, Rogers and Spendor. High End Audio was one of my interest until the HDTV/DVD got to me ( over 500 DVD's in my collection now). Now, I am spending more time in the garage than inside the house. :D

If you like the Take 5s you should hear the Definitive Technology ProCinema 80, they have a much larger sound, which translates into more bang for your buck and size. Definitive Tech is known for making crowd pleasers that still are musical and rich, yet still can give you all the exitement of a movie explosion.

Since this thread has ventured into audio/visual land, I thought I'd throw out a site for a forum where the participants are just as passionate about their hobby and the users of this forum:

www.avsforum.com

Check out the number of posts some of the users have to their credit.

<strong class='bbc'>OK, young Brad. What are some of the best home theatre systems under $800 or so. Any Bose ones that come to mind? Thanks in advance. [/b]</blockquote>
Bose = Garbage. Ad Brad said, they are grossly overrated and over marketed. I am a person who prefers to assemble components to make the best sound.

In Don's case, I would check out a Yamaha HTR-5280 and a set of Energy Take 5s. Both items should not cost more than $800. :D

I do agree. I have an Onkyo CD Player that is almost 15 years old and it's still kickin'. I also own an Onkyo Cassette Deck and I love the recordings I get from it.

Okay, I'm young... so what is a cassette deck anyway? :D

Prinz, those dvd players look nice, especially the top two. So far, I'm just using the one in my pc. :)

I love my Technics SA-AX6 receiver and THX 5.1 surround-sound speakers and subs. That said, here are my favorite DVD scenes in order.

1. Matrix lobby scene - must listen to at high volume. Put the cat outside or it will be traumatized for life.

2. Saving Private Ryan opening 30 minutes - just makes you proud to say you are an American.

3. Gladiator stadium fight scene. Very intense.

4. Lost in Space robot going berzerk scene. Kill Robinson family!

Oh yeah, there's that scene in Wild Things (R-rated my a$$!)...

and There's something about Mary...Franks and Beans

Heh, what is this, trot out your obsession day?

Anyone else here like the Cambridge Soundworks series? I have a friend with a pair of their speakers with some ROTEL equipment and it sounds niiiice.

They seem to be reasonably priced, but is it good for the price, or do I have to go "high end" to get good sound.

Just keeping the tread alive :)

Cambridge is ok....no you dont have to go high end to get great sound, and trust your ears just researchand check out some respected names and trust your ears.

After I got there and took a look at the car I noticed that it had water spots on the whole car. Also there were spots on the chrome rims that had to be removed. After speaking to the owner we decided to go with a 1-step polish along with wheel polishing. We also polished the exhaust tips and cleaned the engine.

Nice job Sully! We don't see many exotics around here (The "Cow-Town" you know! Haha ).

Was that a one-step correction with M105? I thought I was the only one who did that!

The Griots polisher is a nice machine. I've had mine a couple months and love it!:Dancing Dot:
