Stubborn red berry stains on paint.

rlmccarty2000- Even at that price (and much as I really do like the color ;) ), I dunno...I`d lean towards something with better lubricity. And I`m just talking about wheels/wells/undercarriage use. Eh, we`ll see when I finally reorder some shampoo for those areas...I do`nt know what I`ll get.

P Rock- I don`t blame you! Even with those conditions (hope the trip was great!) I`d expect near-miracles from a coating...not that I`ll use one on anything but wheels.

Here`s a closeup of one of the stains on another car... Yes, two cars got hit although one got it way worse.

I’ve never used anything from gtechniques except their glass coating (it was average), but it surprises me that the berries ate through the coating. Coatings are not the magic solution that manufacturers make them out to be, but they do usually provide a sacrificial surface better than sealants or waxes. If they ate through the coating they probably etched the paintwork. Hopefully a good compound on a microfiber pad will remove the etching, if not then wet sanding will be your only option.

If cutting down the tree is not an option then I would invest in a good quality car cover. I know there are some folks that are anti-cover, but anything is better than having your paint permanently damaged.

So sorry this had to happen to your vehicles...
Have you contacted the people that coated your car/s and asked them for support??

There`s always the option of just living with the etching the way I generally do ;) Thin the clear (significantly) now and you might regret it in the future. Sure glad I never fixed the (awfully bad) etching on the A8.

Just wanted to give an update. A detailer got the stains out but it required an abrasive compound with an aggressive cutting pad (forgot what brand he used). He started with something more fine but that didn`t work. I tried a compound as well but it didn`t work so my pad/compound combination were likely too tame.
He said since he had to use an abrasive compound, the ceramic coating likely didn`t survive it... But it was about 2 years old anyways and I`m just glad the berry stains are finally gone.
