STS & Z71: Weekend Clean Up (Our Family Vehicles)

Process Used:

Wash:

Z7 Wash --using a Poorboys Foam Gun & Sheepskin Mitts.

Z7 concentrated (x 2 per gallon) on the wheels & wells
& AutoGeek spoke brush

TOL Tire Cleaner on the tires (dwell time = 2-3 min per tire, and scrubbed with
an Autogeek wheel brush.

Dry:

Blower (95+ % dry)

Cotton towel on the tires.
I didn’t touch the paint (just yet….)

Protect:

Z5Pro x 1 on the exterior (paint, glass, lighting, wheels). I applied using a
German applicator. The applicator was misted with Z6, and Z5 in an ‘X’ pattern. ½ of 1 oz. (or applying an ‘X’ 3 times’) covered the entire exterior. Each panel
was misted with 1 trigger pull of Z6 (to increase application slickness/reduce any
drag on the paint). This was done in the garage, under shade (95%+ dry)

Z16 on the tires and wells using an EO applicator, and MF on the wells.

Z14 on the interior wood & Z10/Z16 mix on the leather/trim.

Z12 on the interior glass. This was applied using a foam applicator, and
removed using a cotton towel.

Z8 final wipe down. (1 trigger per panel). I used 3 DetailCity Prestige Polishing Cloths per vehicle to wipe down the paint. (Very nice MF towels Dwayne!)

After Shots: (Some in the sun, some not….. we had on/off showers this weekend, after 50 days of dry weather. My yard enjoyed the drink)

Very nice, love the STS and those headlights. It looks wicked. How is cleaning the grill on it? It looks like it would be a PITA to get in all those cracks and such if needed (i.e. bugs after a roadtrip)

Stellar as usual!

Be sure to keep us posted on any additions :).

For the pics, you should dial down the ISO and E/V...The sky/wheels look a little washed at E/V-0. If this is japanese to you, just PM me.

Nice rides and super process as well.

> did you put Z-8 on panels while Z-5 was still on the paint before buffing out or use Z-8 after buffing of the Z-5 ?

The process you used gave the paint more body or shimmer that the usual Zaino job I've seen. I have used Zaino and if I decide to go that way again that will be my process.

Thanks for the kind words.

Sorry for the font size folks. I asked a Mod to adjust -i.e. "tone it down" or delete the thread.

Mongo: Z8 was used after removing Z5Pro from the paint as a "final wipe down".

Here's a shot of the STS interior:
