Struggling to get customers?

I read your site and liked it .. the only thing that popped out at me was in the Concourse Detail is the order of the carnuba/polymer .. I would list them in the order of application as a Polymer would go under a Carnuba... Pickie huh?

Yeh I thought about this too Jesstzn. Its a valid point, Ill change it. Thanks for your input guys. keep em comin. the gallery should be getting updated within a month.

wow amazing what a few changes can do.

I now have a BMW(modified), Punto(modified), Land Rover discovery, MGTF (one on the site already) probably a corsa (modified).

I seem to get modified cars as I'm known within the circle of modified and tuned cars. Not always a bad thing I guess! lol. Again guys next time ill be on is to put the finished articles on click and brag. I really did appreciate your help guys it made me realise a few things.

Within a month everything should be sorted and two of the cars mentioned above should be in the gallery.

Ive studied marketing in college and hers some things I would do:

#1 You need more before and after shots

#2 You need tesimonials from your clients. Everytime I go into a home I have the client fill out a questionaire when I leave and have them print there name. Then post them on your site. Marketing principle here is people will believe what other people say about you far before they will believe you.

#3 Where is your Guarantee? I mean, what happens if your client isn't happy with your work? In marketing, its called risk reversal. People want to know they are not going to get screwed, You need to put on your site a "Money Back guarantee if your not happy". For example, I own a carpet cleaning business. In all my advertising I put on there "If its not the best carpet cleaning you ever had you don't owe me a dime" Thats called risk reversal. The client assumes no risk whatsoever. It works, Of course I can back up my claims, and have never had soome who asked me for a refund. Never. So let me ask you, If you needed your carpet cleaned would you respond to my ad or 3 rooms for $39.99 ad?

#4 You can be the best detailer in America but if people do not know you exist its a mute point. Marketing is critical to success. Study marketing

I get your point but for the money back guarntee Im not prepared to work 8/10 hours or more on a car then someone come in a say they arent happy with this or that even though its perfect as im sure youll know there are people who find fault in everything.

Ive studied marketing in UNI too, as I said it will come together by the end of the month, the before pictures for some of the cars are limited as they are still being processed just now (sub contracted web designer).

The questionairre is a brilliant idea! Dont mind if i do lol! I will use that as its a great way to entice clients.

The Guarntee I guess will have to be addressed, however, I dont want clients trying to chance their luck, as all they have to say is their not happy with one thing and I dont have a foot to stand on? For instance, many detailers know not all swirls/scratches can be fully removed, but somehow people have interesting ways of hearing you and they will sometimes twist your words. I will think about this but as it stands, my gaurntee is in the finish the "wow" factor.

Ill link the website once its been properly attended to. But Ed, I appreciate the time out and wholey appreciate the approach you have all taken, one with criticism but also with evidence to back it up, it really does show that this is probably THE nicest forum online.

Thanks Guys. John.

Well one way to combat the guarantee is to make sure you educate the client and go over every aspect of the car BEFORE you start the job. For example, if Im in some ladys house, I fully walk thru the house with her inspecting every yard of carpet before I start. If I feel there a problem area, say a real bad stain, I tell her upfront "Look, I cant promise you this will come out, but I will do my best." If you take time with people, inspect the job and explain to people potential problems your off sto a good start.
