Strongest Carpet Cleaning Product?

My dog recently was sick. I came home and the house smelled like... well you know. It was everywhere. All over his crate, himself, in the carpet, the walls. I honestly didn't think anything would get it out.

I had some oxyclean around and tried the recommended dosage. It was working, but not as well as I hoped. So I doubled or tripled it (can't remember) and it took out everything, can't even tell what happened anymore! All it did was leave a find cloud of left over particulates over the carpet that was easily vaccuumed out.

Heh heh, "thermite"...that was funny :D

Sarcazmo- Yeah, that's what I did when a friend's dog had problems while she was away, worked great, but no soap on the MPV's stains.

newagain- That sounds like what I did the first few hours I spent on this. Shouldn't be shoe dye, just soil that should've been cleaned up right away.

David Fermani- Thanks, I'll check those out when I have the time.

Grouse- OK, I'll be contacting you. Thanks! Yeah, such a sample *would* last me a long time...the interiors of our vehicles just don't get very dirty.

This is something that I'll back-burner and not think about for ages...which is probably the root of the problem.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread but I'm interested in knowing if you ever got the stains out or used JonDon or any of the other products Grouse mentioned.

If your Q was directed at me:

Nope, I've been utterly negligent regarding both the stains in the MPV (which I haven't been using much while its latest paintwork cures) and some areas in the house that my wife wants me to do :o

Thanks for reminding me...every time I see one of Grouse's posts I think "I need to order that stuff..." but I never get around to it.

Blue Magic "Carpet Stain and Spot Remover". Most probably overlook this stuff because it's a low-end product available in most store like Autozone, Pep Boys, etc -- but it is very, very effective at removing stains. The only drawback is that it has a strong chemical smell that needs to air out for a couple days. Another product that is good is 303 Carpet cleaner -- it's very good on stains (though I think slightly less effective than Blue Magic on stains), but the 303 is odor free. I would be surprised if Blue Magic didn't take it out because I haven't found anything it can't remove yet.
