Street Racing

The Rainmaker
Last night a friend of my wife's was involved in an accident.
It appears to have been a street racing situation, two cars, high speed, lost control, other car slowed. then kept going.
Her friend is in the hospital and the guy that was driving is dead. Not a couple of kids, but in their 40's+. Cobra replica that he had built himself. Nice guy.
I have always owned and loved fast cars and have to admit there were times I didn't exercise the best judgement. I like to think I have outgrown that stage, but it is still tempting at times. Something like this really brings it home.:(

Thanks for posting that.

I actually sold my 96 Cobra Mustang (all fixed up of course) and got a Toyota Corolla. It was humiliating to make the switch, but I was getting into too many races and it's just not worth it.

I have a neighbors that lost a son racing. One of those souped up Hondas, about the same thing that happeded there.

I have a friend who likes to race. He does it at the track mostly. Sometimes he takes it on the street but that is only because it is addictive. Its like detailing your car. You start by getting addicted to doing your own and when it is done you go out looking for other cars to do. I can understand it when guys like my friend take it to the street but I can't understand it when they haven't even been on the track. I don't condone it but I can understand why it is done for the thrill of the race, but it's not worth it. Not worth losing your life.
