Street Dreams: Ford GT supercar, #1

Hey does anybody pay close attention to the fender wells? If so what do you clean those with?Being my truck is new should I or does anyone have an opition on blacking out this area?new cars have visible paint in this area but like mine usally are a little lighter in color than the paint on the car.If I am going to black it out what would be best product for this? Thanks

Use a strong multi-purpose cleaner. I use Ef-Hi which is not only the best wheel cleaner around, but a good tire and wheel well cleaner as well. I spray the whole well with the cleaner and scrub using a stiff but flexible brush, and rinse well. Afterwords, especially on trucks and SUV where the well is quite vivible, apply a cleaner/protectant like Vinylex to the plastic parts.

I pull the wheels off my cars twice a year to detail the wheels (front and back), wheel wells and brake calipers. I use EF Hi-Intensity to the most of the work. If Hi-I can't cut the dirt, I shoot a few squirts of EF Engine Cleaner. When finished, I treat everything I can reach with Klasse AIO. The rubber gets Meguiar's #40 or EF Clear Opal.

My Bimmer's fender wells are covered in some sort of a black, plastic cover. I spray it with water and some Meguiar's Wheel Cleaner (#40?) when I wash the wheels.

I dress it with some cheap Son of a Gun protectant I have left.

I clean my wheel wells with EF High Intensity.

For dressing I use Armor All. I use Armor All because I have a lot of it left over.

Similar here...I scrub them when I am washing my wheels/tires (I dont use any wheel cleaning products..some good 'ol car soap normally works for me). Then, when dry, I spray some Meguiars #40 around the fender lining.

a higher-end protectant (like Z-16) really isn't necessary. I have found the Eagle One Protectant very easy to apply and coverage is very good. The Z-16 is a great protectant, but at $20.00 per bottle, it just makes a little more economical sense to use something like the Eagle One in the wheelwells instead, and save the Z-16 for other uses.

2005 White Ford GT, this is serial #1 sold to the public. Booked for light correction detail.

Paint wasnt too bad. Corrected with medium cut polish on the new PC, finished down with the metabo. Inside shots were useless on the white finish, waited until I got some sun shots in the after pics.

Wheels were hand polished and sealed with 3 coats of AJT, tires dressed matte
