well it was really cold outside today and when I went to look at the roof, there was a big spot. IT looks like it really hardened up because of the coldweather. What do i do about it? use quick detailer? or wash the spot?

QD the messy part off and then wash it down with 50% Isopropyl Alcohol (aka IPA) and 50% distilled water. This I believe is said to neutralize the acids present. It also happens to remove any wax/sealant in the area but that's the least of your concerns.

You should clean it off with soap and water as soon as possible. A mild abrasive would then be used on the area. Laters.

puterbum is 100% correect, use some alcohol on it (sounds like grandpa) to prevent further etching. If there is etching in the clear coat allready (probably not) then use some polish to smooth it out like Don said.

Ferrari 360 in Tour de France Blue. Overall the car was generally clean but the finish was in need of moderate correction.

After the wash, car was beading strong so a few extra steps were taken to strip the paint. Even after a citrus pre-soak, citrus 2 bucket wash paint was still beading. Multiple IPA wipedowns took care of the last bit of protection/glaze.

After finishing, brought up the clairty

Rear plastic window hazed and filmy as usual. Hand polished 3-4 times to remove the haze and restore clarity. Later I threw on a coat of jetseal to at least help with the water spotting in the future.

50/50 left side untouched, right side polished

Absolutely gorgeous job on that Dave! I like that blue as much as the Rosso Corsa... The metallic pop is outright spectacular.

Nice job! I've never seen one of those cars... Look at those giant "Air-Gulping" intake openings on the front bumper! That's a Testosterone Machine!

You did an excellent job!:Dancing Dot:

I just looked that car up. are ya ready......$168 Grand....a hair raising 400 hp at 8500 RPM :driving:......0-60.....4.8.....top speed 180 MPH ....

:notworthy:Stellar work as usual David... you made that car look BETTER than new!:notworthy:

I have a client with a TdF 360 Stradale, I think it's just about the most beautiful car I've ever seen. Nothing like a red Ferrari, but TdF sure looks killer on those cars as well.

Dave,

You did it again. Your work continues to inspire us all.

Keep up the great work.:Dancing Dot:

I got to drive a red 360 on 2 occasions, very fun car with great noise and light steering but in terms of sheer speed... believe it or not most porsche Turbo's will outrun it but have to say a flat 6 watercooled engine can never sound like an NA V8 :cornut:

Isopropyl Alcohol(rubbing alcohol) Wipedown

Amazing work Dave!! :Dancing Dot:

I've seen this listed before, listed as say, 50/50 IPA/Distilled Water.

At what stage would this be done at?

Post 2 bucket wash from what I can gather? Pre, or post claying? This is used as a method of removing previous waxes, yeah?

Thanks.

I had a client who sold a TDF 360 Stradale (with red interior) and a stripe. Same care perhaps?

David the work is phenomenal again. Great car, amazing work, sweet color! Thank you for sharing!
