Street Dreams Detail (dsms detail) - Hammered Lexus LS460!

I've been wanting to give sanding with my DA a go for a while now.



What speed and how much pressure did you use with that?

Is it similar to using an air powered one?



(sorry if those questions seem basic. i've mostly only used blocks for sanding.)

That is awesome work! I actually do some work with Lexus Magazine. Have you ever checked it out? Your photos reminded me of the Photo of The Week this week and the craftmanship that goes into working on cars.

Can you comment at all on how to get good pictures of the swirls on the paint with your lights? Do you want the light from the flashlight beaming directly back at your camera?



I have a Fenix light as well but it just blinds my camera. I can point it away from my camera and pick up just the bulb, but it doesn't get nearly as good results as you're getting.

I use a DSLR for my before pictures and the after pics but for paint correction shots I found my old sony point and shoot does a great job, I usually angle the light or my camera as to not blurr out the lens.
