Strange oxidation?

I need some advice, you guys...

My '94 teal green Ranger has some weird chalky, white, swirly oxidizing of the driver's side door. The damage is only around the window though, the lower section of the door is fine. Also, there is no other problem with the paint (original) anywhere else.

I'm pretty sure the truck is clearcoated because I don't get any paint on my applicator when I polish/wax.

Last weekend I clayed, then used Turtle Wax Polishing Compound, then Meguiar's Carnauba. It didn't seem to touch the problem. What can I do? I would really hate to repaint the original paint just for one section on the door.

Do you think AIO would help?

Any replies would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have you owned the truck since new? Is it possible that the door has been repainted and not clearcoated?

Thanks for the replies!

Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera right now so maybe I can get one and post a picture by next week.

I bought the car used, it was a "demonstrator," but the paint looked fine up until the last couple of years. And the rest of the door looks fine, the damage is just around the window. Maybe somebody (or even me before I knew better) got some kind of overspray on it. Don't know...I'm at a loss.

Do ya think I should try another polishing job maybe with a different brand? Never saw any paint color coming off on my applicator last time, so maybe it needs another dead layer taken off?
