Strange Bird

Mr Detailer
Yesterday I am working outside in my yard building these neverending stone walls...when I hear a noise coming from about five feet above me in a tree. I look up and theres a Blue Jay.

I think nothing of it other then it is squaking at me alot, like its mad. So I roll this boulder to the end of the wall, and happen to glance back and it is now sitting on my wall, hopping closer and closer. I way my arm and stop my foot to see if it would fly off and it doesn't flinch. I walk back to get my next rock and I hear wings fluttering right behind me. I look down its almost sitting on my foot. I pick up the next rock and walk to the end of the wall, I hear the wings flapping again, and then their it is on my shoulder.

It freaks me out. I swat it off and go into the house. I made a call to a women my mother in law knows who is an expert on birds and told me its a baby, I said it looks quite large and she replies yes they can be, and that the mother is teaching it to get its own food but it doesn't want to.

So I stay inside for like five minutes, then go back out...no bird...pick up another rock walk it over and there it is again...this thing is stalking me.:D

Anyways thatnks for listening to my story.

The next step will be the baby jay's potty training.

You should be aware that this will involve your car. :D

Feed him and then he will invite all his buddies over.....we have a lot of Jays here and I have food out for them

aren't they very mean when it comes to territories???? I thought it was going to peck you or something but that is pretty cool to have a wild bird sit on your shoulder. Nice story.

They sure are we had some make nest in some rose brushes this last spring....any other birds, cats, me that would come close they would go crazy....to me they are quite entertaining...thats why I put out food....now you talk about an annoying bird its the crows we have...loud to say the least

Well from what I have read Blue Jays are similar to Crows just slightly smaller and alot nicer looking..

I will see tomorrow if its out there. But I don't think it was trying to attack me, although I did think of that at first, when it startled me.

I think I know who has been eating the bunny foor...other then the bunny of course.

The crows here are like XL black birds...as for the bunny food do you have raccoons?

We may although I have never really seen any...what usually steals the bunny food are Chipmunks...those are everywhere...

Don't have many of those here in this part of the state....manly the Sierras..but I could see how they could be taking the food
