Storing MF towels?

I'm new to detailing and I recently bought some MF towels. I wash them on low spin, cold water, with a little detergent. The delicate cycle. I dry them on low temp. I think thats the proper way. Can I just store them in a plastic bag (a wal-mart bag) or is there a better place?

go to your local big lots and they have tons of plastic storage drawers and snap lid storage totes for pretty cheap...

Yeah, BigAl3 is right. Whether it is plastic containers, or large plastic storage bags (I do that, one for clean, one for dirty, both hanging on a hook on the way to the basement), it will work for you either way. IMHO, keeping dust off them until you want to use them is the thing.

And, by the way, welcome! You will find so much info here that it will make your head spin (and that's not a bad thing).

not to hijack thread, but do you keep all car wash products like polishes, brushes and so on in bins also or on a shelf?

Depends on how frequently I want to access them. Stuff that gets used all the time stays on the shelf, refills and stuff I use occasionally stays on shelves in the storage room, stuff I keep but never/seldom use is in boxes/bins in the storage room. I try to limit my right-there-taking-up-space stuff to things I use all the time.

For the MFs, I finally got so many of them that the ones in active use are kept in RubberMaid trash cans just like my cotton towels (spares are in RubberMaid containers in the storage room).

alright i just bought a small 3-drawer sterlite storage container. It'll hold my small collection of towels since I just started.

Same here on the plastic bins. Have them sorted out by polishing pads, window MF, polish/wax removal, drying, and general use. Plus some big containers for dirty MF.

One thing that made my life easier was a plactic storage cabinent - got it for 60 bucks at Target. It snaps together, even I could do it and keeps everything neat and put away. I bought some storage bins from Lowes for MF towels and foam/wool pads. The wife says that it passes the Martha Stewart test, whatever that is...

Thanks! I've got to spruce up the garage though. In the next couple weeks I'm hoping to build a work bench, hang some banners, (need to find some place to buy a Meg's banner) and paint the walls.
