still confused-procedures and steps

Im sorry i keep asking but here goes-car was keyed entire drivers side so i will wait to detail it for at least a month-is there something i can safely put on by hand to make it look good?



Tomorrow i am detailing the rest of car-hood -trunk- right side-

im going to use menzernaII (its a blk 2004 MB) then wax



I have read i should use isoporpyl alcohol- when do i use this step and also the clay-

I have soverign paste -p21s-moose wax-and maybe moose sealant



can someone sugest the steps-for old paint



anything i can do for new paint job? its a week old-and they must have compunded it by machine as i see swirls in new paint!!! and this is from a top rated body shop!

I plan on gently washing it with the pinnacle shampoo

I also have the PC7424



but when and how do i use the alcohol? and I will just clay the old paint-good shape but just SWIRLS and spider webs...

jwmciti-The alcohol is an optional step and isn't required for what you're using. The purpose of alcohol is to strip off old wax and/or remove oils left by polishes. If you think your old paint has a lot of wax on it, use the alcohol after the wash to strip it off.



Clay during or after the wash.



Use the Menzerna polish after drying the car off. I have no idea if that's the right polish for an '04 Benz though (is it Clear paint :confused: ). You'd use the same (appropriate) polish to remove the marring from the new paint. Bodyshops often swirl up their work BTW, just because they can *spray* paint that doesn't mean they know how to polish it ;)



Wax the old paint. Put something fresh-paint-safe on the new paint (3M IHG, Meguiar's #3/#5/#7/#81/Deep Crystal Step #2).
