Sticky VW MKIV interior plastic - How to clean?

Hello all,



My VW MKIV's black interior plastic became quite sticky and attracts a lot of dirt and dust.



I have never cleaned it with any sort of interior cleaning solvent....i always use tap water with a sponge to clean it and after i dry it with a microfiber towel.



Do you suggest a method for cleaning it and removing this stickiness ?
