sticky residue on plastic rear window

There seems to be what's left of some scotch tape on my friend's miata. I'm too scared to try anything that's remotely aggressive, so I figure it best to ask the experts. What should I use to take off the adhesive while not harming the plastic window in any way?

I think goo gone may help. It didn't eat harder plastics that I've used it on. Don't know about soft plastics though, I'd imagine it would be fine.

WD40 also works for removing gooey stuff but it stinks, I'd rather have the citrus smell.

Either way it leaves an oily residue that you'll need to clean with some form of window cleaner.
