there's another thread that is very recent that runs through exactly what you are looking for as far as the process in the second post (http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68735). as for your other questions...i would try the professional detailers section. there's a lot of discussion about the topics your looking for answers to. I do a similar detail process (more or less depending on the state of the car originally). Personally....Full Blown detail on an SUV gets me about 350 cars about 280. When I do show cars I double the prices (roughly).

It *really* depends on vehicle condition, but I do have a customer who has that done to her Volvo 2-3 times a summer, and I charge 95 for the first time and 60 apiece for the 2nd two. She keeps it in decent shape, so it usually takes me about 3 hours of work time for the first job, and 2 for the maintenance runs.

Wow Mach, you're making some serious money there. Where do you work out of? (The market won't bear that here, I get around 150 for cars and 200 for SUV's, but that includes a full interior shampooing and machine polishing).

Yeah. It's decent. I work in Lancaster, PA. The area itself is moderately wealthy, but there is a lot of people that call it a bedroom community for Philly and even NYC execs. I typically don't get all that though. I usually run a special for about 155 (Deluxe INterior, Clay, Wash, wax, and dressings) that gets a fair amount of bites. I am busy though. IN the fall I was putting out about 8 full details a month. I work mainly with teachers and doctors, restaraunteurs, etc. People with some stash and no time. I guess I've been lucky. I have thought about lowering rates to generate more business as I have been dead lately, but then I think about my integrity and who I want to be my customer and then phones slowly start to ring. I'll have to wait and see. This is my second year in the biz.

Teachers around here can barely afford the $9 wash at the local tunnel wash. :D I have better luck with the local "businessmen" or people that fell into money... the more money than sense crowd. :D

Good deal for you though!
