Steam... Ruining my micros, need cheap suggestions.

So after finally picking up a steamer, I started using my cloths to do the interior. Anyways the steam cleans amazing but seems to stain the mf's. I've ran them through the wash multiple times but no luck. Luckily I used my cheap ones but still, any recommendations on where to pick up cheap towels? Or how to really get the grime out of these.
 
I went to PepBoys the other day and they had a whole section for cleaning. They has a lot of new MF towels to select from. Maybe they changed one by your location as well. I was actually pretty impressed.
 
I buy the Members Mark Commercial Microfiber 16X16 from Sams Club. They come in a 30 pack. Hard to find a better deal for a decent General Purpose Towel. You can get them in a few different colors.

surprisingly it's actually a decent towel
 
I never used Microfiber and Steam (VX5000) together enough to stain the towels like apparently you have..
What did you use to try to clean them ? Did you throw some Distilled White Vinegar in the Wash and Rinse Cycles ?
Prefer to use the little White Towels that Target sells in their Automotive Isle, if they still have one now... These are really cheap, and not a big deal if they get dirty, since they are cotton..

Do you like using your steamer on interiors ?
I have the Dupray. Strangly, I use it 90% on inside house duties. Love love LOVE love this on cleaning my wood floors.

However, I never really got the *knack* on using it for the car.
My interiors are pretty maintained, and I could see a application where the steam would warrant it .

The steamer I'm using is pretty powerfull, Nacecare 1600 aka Technovap. I will definitely check out target. As of now I've only been using 3d towel Kleen. Ran them for two cycle heavy and they are still stained.

Could be just the *heat* setting the stain in the towels.
Have you tried a soak with oxyclean.

The only time I use my steamer is just to get into the front cupholders or side door panels.
Everything else is just tons of towels, water and or cockpit .
 
I definitely believe it's because of the heat, it is the same concept as heating the twill in carpets to remove the stain. I will give oxy a shot, as these are work towels. All I care about is getting them clean. That said these towels are 3 years old and it may be time for some new ones :)

As long as they work well, then I would't bother too much with the stains. That said, I much prefer cotton for steaming duties.
 
Oxy-Clean powder is my go to. The only thing it doesn't remove IME is tar. But, any towel with tar is rag material at that point anyway; just saying. Letting them soak for the recommended 6 hours in hot water should get them back to a point of interior worthy. Like Todd said though, cotton terry is what I prefer for steaming and heavy dirty. Cotton can handle the heat way better and may release the stains better. Another place for decent, cheap MFs is outlet stores like Big Lots and Ollies Bargain Outlet.
