Steam Cleaning Cars?

You can't clean cars with steam alone......unless it has a super high PSI. Steam may loosen dirt but what then? There is nothing to carry it away or flush it away.

It works great on wheels, wheel wells, tires and for interiors steam vapor is wonderful but to wash an entire exterior?....(safely)...forget about it.

That's what I was thinking. I have one of those small hand held steamers, and it works fine for loosening things but I still have to wipe the surface.
To be honest how many things will be that stuck to the paint surface where you will be needing steam to release it from it. I'm sure that it would work fine in an engine compartment, but maybe not even there with all the electronics.
 
If I combine one of those with my Sham Wow, then I'll have a killer process.I hope they are made in Germany. The Germans always make good stuff. :)
 
While it definitely goes against my gut feeling, it is certainly getting some hype.

Who knows? It's not for me today, but that may change. :dunno:
 
FWIW, This subject deals with a lot of information that most of us aren't familiar with and I for one have a tough time digesting it all.

Maybe my definition of steam is what confuses me about the car steam cleaning thing.
I thought water had to be 212 degrees, (at sea level) to become steam, but that isn't necessarily so.
Flash Steam can be formed at much lower temperatures by quickly reducing the pressure on heated water.
Maybe that's what is happening with these systems.

Anyway, you guys will have to figure it out, my head hurts from too much thinking. :)
