SSR2.5 and cutting pad failed me...what to try next?

Depending on the size of backing plate that's available for your rotary, keep these pads in mind if the only size you can get is a 6" BP.

I picked-up some 8.5" LC tufted pads from scott at http://www.specialtymotoring.com/ & I had excellent results with zero damage .... very confidence inspiring.

I was wa-a-y to chicken to use a wool pad so these LC pads are a good intermediate step, kind of like a baby step, to getting used to a rotary.

If you've used LC pads, you know the quality is there & the same colors for PC pads are used with the tufted pads. Pretty sure TOL carries these pads too.

I have a whole bunch of Propel 6.5" pads. I like them a lot and would prefer to use them. They should work fine with a rotary right?

What about the SSRs? Are those good for rotary use?

They work just fine with the rotary, though I prefer to work with Meguiars polishes when *I* use the rotary. It just seems like the entire 80 series "comes to life" with the rotary.

I also use the meguiars w64 BP and use my 6" PC pads. Cuts down on expense and they are, IMO easier to work with.

So I take it pretty much any polish will work much faster with a rotary?

Do you get the same results with a gentler pad when using the rotary compared to a PC (with the same polish)?
