Sponsorship

I was wondering what it takes for you guys to give a sponsorship. I have a family full of award winning cars and have had friends in the past get sponsorships w/ meguiars and mothers and was wondering what it takes. I figure I need to write a letter w/ a list of shows we'll attend, etc. What else does it take?

Here are the cars of the house :)

also have a C5 and a little modded honda.

Since Mike will probably answer this, do you guys have any detailing clinics comming up? I'd like to attend one to get a real life opinion of the PC buffer as I've never used one.

I know you have the NXT workshop comming up but that's beyond my league $$ wise :(

58 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (report has it there are only around 30 or so left on the road)

All original/ even the original Buffalo Hide Leather is in awesome shape :D

It's a sweet ride, we picked it up for a STEAL up at Hot August Nights auctions a few years back. Drove Regis Fieldman in the Rose Parade when he was the Grand Marshall a few years back.

That Caddy is sweet!

I'm a big Caddy fan, (older ones), I almost bought a 1957 Seville back in Oregon and it looked very similar to your 1958. It was a 2-door hard top, but same basic body style.

It's probably still sitting in this guys garage. It has a completely rebuilt engine and transmission already to go back into it.

The only reason I didn't buy it was because I took this job working for Meguiar's and had about 5 weeks to hot rod a 1959 Cadillac and get out of town.

Would you be up for a clinic this weekend at Meguiar's?

It looks like the Harley Davidson Truck clinic may have a few openings.

Mike

Hmm, I'm swamped every weekend for the next month w/ car shows/etc. Do you have a list of upcomming clinics? Do we get to work on our own cars during these clinics? If so I'd like to get my suburban down and I've gotta fix a few things to get it running.

Thanks a million Mike.

edit: also, what's the general fee for these clinics?

Mike, how many trucks do you have signed up for saturday? How long does a day typically take? I may be able to attend.

Hi HotRodGuy,

Usually the classes are overful, but this weekends event only has a few people signed up so far.

If I were you, I would go to a car show and let's try to do something after hours in Meguair's Garage like on a Wednesday or Thursday.

Mike

After I was born, I was brought home in a 58 caddy convert.

My dad wants another before he dies!!

He cruises a 69 caddy eldo now.

I detailed a 59 caddy brtz convert with factory bucket seats not to long ago. There are only 99 of them produced.

Yours is a SWEET ride!!

If that's an option that sounds great. We'll talk about it in the future then.

Good to see a business dedicated to your customers/fellow enthusiasts so much :)

Hi 2001civicex,

From DetailCity.com

It depends what kind of magazine it is I guess. If it is an honest magazine then cool. If it is a magazine with nothing but Meguiars ads or some other big company I will pass. It has to be bias and hit every angel and tons of products. I guess I just don't want to read about one or two product lines all the time.

Are you the same person? (Just curious)

I'm not sure what is involved with a person that gets sponsored, that's why I posted I would try to get some information.

Mike

Hi 2001civicex,

I like the idea of a "Detailing" magazine. I would like to contribute to it as an employee from Meguiar's, but also as an enthusiast detailer.

I know it takes a lot of money to run a successful magazine. If this moves forward, Michael Gleeson and partners will need some sponsors, i.e. advertisers to offset the cost of production.

Whether Meguiar’s would be a sponsor or not I cannot say, that's not my department. To tell you the truth, I don’t think Meguiar's wouldn't get much out of an ad in a magazine like this because most of the people that will be reading it will already know about Meguiar's. Advertising is typically to introduce a company or a product to people that don't know who your are or your products.

Or coarse I don't know that for sure and companies like Meguiar's are always coming out with new products, and improving existing products.

Mike

What was that all about? Why did you bring that into this thread? You brought that from another site? WTF?

What I meant was, I would not want to read a detailing magazine put out my a certain product manufacturer. I would want one that could give reviews on ALL products or what not.
